Yeah the other day some dude standing next to me farted and it stunk so bad that it made my eyes water.

Anyone can have chemical sensitivities. Depending on your body. One thing is for certain- all people are sensitive to corrosives- such as acidic and alkalotic materials. Different people have different allergies. Some break out into hives, some itch, and some even go to the extreme where the airway swells shut.
Have a look at the Book Food Chemical Sensitivity by Robert Buist Phd.
As far as I know it is a reaction to various chemicals in the food you have eaten. eg certain additives.
