It is expensive, but I usually buy organic.
I am not a Republican (or Democrat) though. My elderly parents are, but they think Republicans have all gone nuts too.
My guess is…”Organic food is a big hoax perpetrated by Al Gore”
Well, I’m conservative / libertarian.
I love Organic food.
The problem is that the agro companies, chemical companies have bought themselves a lot of government power. Subsidies, special privileges…..it all happens.
That’s the reason it’s more expensive.
Just look into it. Obama keeps appointing agro company cronies for positions. Michael Taylor, a Monsanto crony, was appointed head of the FDA.
The current state of the food industry is anything but the result of free market capitalism – which is what I advocate.
EDIT: I can’t believe some people are uninformed. First of all, organic food won’t have endocrine disrupting pesticide residues on it. Second of all, Organic food HAS been shown to yield a higher content of nutrients.
EDIT: Carmen, actually Al Gore is not on the Organic food bandwagon. Clintons, Al Gore and Democrats in general are in deep in the pocket of agro companies like Monsanto.
I have a small (2 acre) section on my farm for it. Doesn’t sell well, but we love it. I have found tho that if I haul my produce to a city I can stick a organic label on regular produce and get double the money from those suckers.
Well, I grow my own food organically and am Republican. Also, my chickens aree true free range chickens not the fake stuff you liberals buy your eggs from. My meat is organic as I raise my own cows. I just don’t think you liberals who want to force everyone to eat organic are very happy people.
Sh!t is natural, but I don’t make a habit of consuming it.
To me it isn’t worth the extra money, and in fact studies have shown it may be more dangerous than “standard” food, the production of which is better regulated.
Probably the same as the average Democrats opinion. Since when does one’s political stance have anything to do with organic food? You must be an angry liberal trying for a dig and failing miserably.
Organic food tastes ok but doesn’t last more than 1 day so eat fast.

I don’t think there is a party line for food choices.
My parents are republican and run an organic farm. They sell food that has the same or worse nutritional value at a higher price to suckers.
It is proven that its has no more nutritional value than nonorgainc food. It just cost more. We are living much longer now, so insecticides are not killing anybody.
I love it. But do you feel ashamed about spending more for organic, when your neighbor can’t afford organic?
I feel that it is for gullible liberals who think it’s healthier, when it really has no nutritional advantage. It just costs more. Plus organic food is usually smaller because they don’t use good fertilizer.
It also takes up space that could be used for large yield GE crops. If we grew only organic crops on all the farmland we have now, we could only feed 2/3 of the world. In other words, it cannot sustain a growing population. GE crops can, they are always increasing in yield and resistance to things like pests and drought.
So yeah if you don’t think about it then organic is fine, but if you stop and think about it, you’ll see how dumb it is. If you can afford it then you won’t really care, it’s just another extravagant wasteful thing that liberals love. Like wearing a hemp tuxedo.
You can eat what you want so long I don’t have to subsidize it through taxes.

Too much money. Organic is just another label they put on food to make people buy it and think they are eating a fresher alternative.
