Fibromyalgia, I think I have it? Question on sensitivities/reactions due to fibromyalgia?
Question by ♥ Mommy To Be 12/20/09 ♥: Fibromyalgia, I think I have it? Question on sensitivities/reactions due to fibromyalgia?
For at least three to four months, I have been experiencing what I think is fibromyalgia.
Why? I’ve thought it could’ve been everything under the sun and I have nearly every symptom I’ve ever read about Fibromyalgia at some point (reoccurring) through-out these months. Back pain, neck pain, back of the head pain, joint pain, elbow/knee pain (more of it an ache and occasion shooting pain when too much pressure is supplied or I just happen to notice it being much worse). I’ve had bad issues sleeping, not getting enough rest when I’ve gotten good hours of sleep, waking up for no reason and tossing and turning. Morning stiffness, dizziness, irritable bowel, bad dry eyes, chronic headaches, mood changes, anxiety/depression for no reason that I can really think. I didn’t think it was Fibromyalgia at first… I just thought it was happening, no real cause until my mom said that’s what she thought it was. Apparently, my aunt, cousin and people on the other side of my family also have had this (sometimes to the point that it’s near impossible to get out of bed).
I’ve been to the Dr. before I realized how reoccurring it was and towards the beginning. I was diagnosed with pink eye but I think it could’ve just been bad dry eyes. I was diagnosed with a childhood disease, Fifth Disease. Since then, it’s been reoccurring from what I can remember… everything worsening around the time of the month before/during/after my period, other than that… sporadic and random but always coming back.
Now, I have little doubt in my head that it could be anything else. I believe, the pain that this causes is very real because I’ve been experiencing it.
My question is, is this likely to be it? Has anyone else had it? Similar symptoms?
I’ve read a list of signs/symptoms and I’ve been looking around to get more than just the common one’s. Now, I read somewhere that panic attacks, chemical sensitivities, allergies and such can be a sign. Now, if I have had this of late… and I NEVER did before, is this likely to be true?
How can something that isn’t so serious (I know the pain is though, don’t get me wrong)… cause sensitivities to chemicals? Is it because your immune system is weaker? Or something else? Or is what I read a hoax? Please help!

Fibro = old school term for adrenal fatigue. You can heal from this.

What do you think? Answer below!

I agree that overuse of the term fibromyalgia and the homeopathic sites on it are not all legit. It can exploit a unfortunately ill person.
Go to TMS, tension myositis syndrome, and see if you have 8 or so trigger points, not 17 – 18, and increasing. Deal with it. Get tough and just deal with it, knock it out with the power of your mind, if TMS.
Then, you have to treat your colon in a variety of ways. I believe your own colon toxicity and imbalance is poisoning and torturing you. And taking your energy, making you stiff, and tired.
In this regard there is a free site, and merely a book called the H.O.PE. diet or lifestyle plan, no hoax, just anagram for…….
H.O.P.E. stands for:
High Fiber
Omega-3 Oils
Probiotics
Enzymes
For example, I personally do NOT believe this: http://www.hffcf.org/403030.php and this http://www.losingitmyway.com/The_Hope_Diet.html which may be a take off or knock off of this fully sensible concept. http://www.brendawatson.com/In-the-News/Brenda's-News/HOPE/ Write to the author if you want to.
I hope you will, the answer took me all night, I am up watching sick child, and google is full of tricks on this legit Brenda Watson concept which has helped me, I am going for a colonoscopy, LOL. Will treat myself with H.O.P.E after I see the results.
You sound exactly like me before I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and I do believe it is a real condition and I am an active member of the fibromyalgia support community. The symptoms you have listed go hand in hand with fibromyalgia as it is not strictly a pain condition. While there is no cure there are many treatment options available but finding the right combination for you is a game of trial and error, for me massage therapy has been my life saver from the pain and headaches. With respect to the sensitivity being increased it is likely caused by the fatigue and pain your body is experiencing. When your fibro goes untreated you are much more sensitive to everything – very similar to a migraine that never goes away. The coming and going of the hightened symptoms of fibro are known as flare ups and they are typicaly brought on by lack of sleep and stress. Diagnosing your fibromyalgia will be a frustrating experience, I’ll just be honest with you. The diagnosis process consists of ruling out other conditions through many blood tests, x-rays and likely an MRI and CAT Scan but staying positive will be your best course of action even though it is difficult. Best of luck to you and feel free to contact me if you have any more questions.
