What are ways to keep allergy shots from “leaking”?

Question by sometimeslifesuxx: What are ways to keep allergy shots from “leaking”?
I started taking allergy shots this fall and now I leak the extract. The last time I got my shots she said more extract leaked out than stayed in. I am looking for what may cause this and possible tips to keep it from happening. They keep telling me if I leak then I will need shots longer. We have tried Z tracking, limiting liquids the morn before the shots and taking them lower on the arm. No luck. Any suggestions?

You need to get the doctor involved. One or two drops of fluid looks like a lot on skin, so the nurse may be overestimating the problem. There are other sub-q sites that are less likely to leak back out. Your stomach is probably the best one.

But, again, tell the nurse that you would like the doctor to advise you.
